Spot market electricity prices for Friday, Jan. 3

The highest electricity price rate for one megawatt-hour on Türkiye’s day-ahead spot market for Friday will be 3,000 Turkish liras at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. local time (0500, 0600 GMT), according to official figures on Thursday.

The lowest rate is set at 1,424.10 liras at 12 p.m.and 1 p.m. local time (0900, 1000 GMT), the data showed.

The Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data for the trade volume for Friday’s electricity market shows a decrease of 8.16% to around 1.52 billion liras compared to Thursday

The arithmetical and weighted average electricity prices on the day-ahead spot market are calculated as 2,381.49 liras and 2,408.58 liras, respectively.

The highest electricity price rate for one megawatt-hour for Thursday was set at 3,000 Turkish liras at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., and between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. local time (0500, 0600 and 1300-1500 GMT), while the lowest rate was set at 1,799.98 liras at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).

US$1 equals 35.32 liras at 2.22 p.m. local time (1122 GMT) on Thursday.
