Serbian tennis superstar Novak Djokovic won his first Olympic gold at the Paris 2024 Games on Sunday.
Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion in men’s singles, beat his Spanish opponent Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets; 7-6(3), 7-6(2) to earn a gold medal at Paris’ Court Philippe-Chatrier.
37-year-old Djokovic joined Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, who have won all four tennis majors (the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open) and an Olympic gold medal in singles.
Alcaraz, 21, who has won four Grand Slam titles in his career, returned home with an Olympic silver.
On Saturday, Italian tennis player Lorenzo Musetti won bronze medal in Paris.
The Paris 2024 will end on Aug. 11.
