BELGRADE, Serbia
Serbian Postal Service issued a commemorative stamp on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.
The special commemorative stamp was introduced to the public in a ceremony organized at the Postal Service’s museum in the capital, Belgrade.
“The commemorative stamp printed by the Serbian Postal Service on the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of our Republic as the most beautiful sign of Turkish-Serbian friendship. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to this process,” said Turkish Ambassador Hami Aksoy at the ceremony.
The director of Serbia Postal Service, Zoran Djordjevic, said that he hopes for the relations between Serbia and Türkiye to be even closer and to a better level by such gestures as the special stamp.
“The first steps of modern Türkiye were taken by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk 100 years ago and now it is a developing and progressive country under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” said Djordjevic.
