Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli win Asian Champions League

ANKARA

Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli won the Asian Champions League with a 2-0 victory over Japanese club Kawasaki Frontale on Saturday.

In the match at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Al Ahli took a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute with a goal scored by Brazilian striker Galeno.

Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie scored his team’s second goal in the 42nd minute.

The 27-year-old Turkish international Merih Demiral, who started the match, became the first Turkish footballer to reach and win the Asian Champions League final.
