San Antonio Spurs acquire Cedi Osman

ANKARA

The San Antonio Spurs on Friday, announced that they acquired Turkish forward Cedi Osman.

The Spurs also got Lamar Stevens along with two future second round picks and cash considerations in exchange for a future second round pick as part of a three-team trade that included the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat, the statement added.

Osman, who holds career averages of 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 23.6 minutes, is about to begin his seventh NBA season, after 404 NBA appearances.

The 28-years-old was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round (31st overall) of the 2015 NBA Draft.

Then he was signed as a free agent with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017-18 season and he has played for the Eastern Conference franchise for six years.

In a farewell message to the Cavs franchise, fans and teammates on Instagram, Osman thanked for his 6 years spent with the organization.

To the fans, Osman said: “You opened your arms and welcomed me as one of your own. Thank you so much for the boundless love you have shown me since the first day I stepped into the NBA.”

To the franchise, Turkish player said: “Cleveland Cavaliers made my dreams come true. You have shown me nothing but love and for that, I will be grateful forever. All the management team, coaches, technical staff that I worked with and all my colleagues whose names I forgot to mention, I love you all from the bottom of my heart.”

Lastly, to his teammates, Cedi said: “Thank you to each and every one of you. I will always miss the team spirit we built on and off the court. I will keep an eye on all of you guys, and will always be proud of your achievements.”
