October 27, 2025 3:43 pmRussian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev said on Monday that India accounts for a significant share of Russian oil exports, with supplies remaining high this year.
Speaking to the Russian news agency TASS, Tsivilev noted that India continues to play a key role for Russia in the energy sector.
The US had imposed a 50% tariff on India, one of the largest importers of Russian oil following the Ukraine war, citing this trade as the reason.
US President Donald Trump had claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured him that India would halt purchases of Russian crude.
Earlier, on Oct. 20, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko also confirmed that oil shipments to India were continuing.
