ANKARA

Russia’s foreign reserves amounted to $540 billion in September, down by $25 billion from August, according to data released by Russia’s central bank on Friday.

In March, Western countries had frozen access to about half of Russia’s central bank reserves due to the war in Ukraine.

The central bank announced that they would initiate legal proceedings against the move.
