Red Bull’s Verstappen wins F1 Belgian Grand Prix

ISTANBUL

Red Bull’s Dutch driver Max Verstappen won Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix, round 13 of the 2023 Formula 1 season.

Verstappen completed the 44-lap race in one hour, 22 minutes, and 30 seconds to take his eighth consecutive win at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps’ 7-kilometer (4.3-mile) track.

Sergio Perez from Red Bull came second while Charles Leclerc from Ferrari finished third as Red Bull extended its record to 13 straight wins.

With 34 more points, Max Verstappen stayed in the lead, 125 points ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez.

The round 14 race, the Dutch Grand Prix, will be held at CM.com Circuit Zandvoort on Aug. 27.

In May, Formula One canceled the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the sixth race of the season, due to flooding in northern Italy.
