Record-holders Real Madrid eye 11th EuroLeague title against Olympiacos

ANKARA

Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid will take on Greek club Olympiacos Piraeus in Sunday’s Turkish Airlines EuroLeague final.

The competition’s record-holders Real Madrid are after their 11th EuroLeague title against the Greek side.

Olympiacos, on the other hand, hope to end their 10-year title drought by taking down Los Merengues.

Olympiakos won both of their regular season clashes against Real Madrid.

The Greek side won the match in Spain on Oct.19, 2022 with 89-87, then beat Real Madrid at home on Jan. 20 with 73-60.

Olympiakos’ most important weapon will be Sasha Vezenkov, named MVP of the regular season.

Real Madrid’s biggest hope is expected to be Walter Tavares, who led his team to a vital semifinal victory against Barcelona.

Monaco and Barcelona will play against each other for third place on the same day.

Both the final and third-place match will be held at the Zalgirio Arena in Kaunas, Lithuania.
