ISTANBUL
Real Madrid upset Barcelona 97-90 in Round 12 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on Thursday.
Facundo Campazzo delivered an impressive double-double performance with 18 points, 10 assists and five rebounds.
“I just tried to call Mario (Hezonja), bring him to the pick-and-roll, and make the slip. They gave me a little bit of space on the three-point line. I just released the shot,” Campazzo said after the victory.
“Thank God, it went in,” the Argentine point guard added.
Walter Tavares dominated with 24 points and 18 rebounds in El Clasico.
Mario Hezonja also contributed significantly, adding 23 points and seven rebounds to lead the winning side to victory at Palau Blaugrana.
Kevin Punter’s outstanding 27-point performance and Jan Vesely’s 20-point contribution were impressive but not enough to secure Barca’s victory.
Real Madrid are 10th with six wins and six losses while Barcelona are seventh with seven wins and five defeats.
