Real Madrid, Maccabi Tel Aviv force EuroLeague quarterfinal series to Game 5s

ANKARA

Real Madrid and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv forced the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague quarterfinal series to Game 5s with Thursday’s matches.

Real won 85-78 against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade in Serbia, while Israel’s Maccabi hammered Monaco 104-69 at home.

As both series are tied at 2-2, Game 5s in each series will determine which team will through to the Final Four.

Zach Leday’s 25-point contribution was not enough for Partizan to grab a victory against Real Madrid.

Walter Tavares and Adam Hanga led Real Madrid, scoring 15 points each.

Meanwhile Lorenzo Brown led Maccabi with 22 points to a vital win at Tel Aviv’s Menora Mivtachim Arena. Monaco guard Mike James was his team’s top scorer with 13 points.

Maccabi will visit Monaco, while Real Madrid will host Partizan in the last game of the quarterfinal playoffs on Wednesday.
