Real Madrid defender Eder Militao extends contract to 2028

ANKARA

Real Madrid’s Brazilian defender Eder Militao extended his deal Tuesday with the Spanish football powerhouse for the next four and half years.

The team said Militao, 26, inked a contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium until June 30, 2028.

Militao was diagnosed with a “torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee” in August.

He joined Real Madrid from Portugal’s Porto in 2019 and became one of the club regulars.

During his time at Real Madrid, he won nine trophies including the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and two Spanish La Liga titles.

Militao scored 11 goals in 143 appearances for Real Madrid.

He has amassed 30 international caps for Brazil and helped his nation win the Copa America in 2019.
