Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly discussed Saturday ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The two leaders met on the sidelines of the 22nd edition of the Doha Forum 2024, hosted by the Qatari capital on Saturday and Sunday, according to a statement by the Egyptian Cabinet.
Both sides discussed “enhancing various aspects of cooperation and coordination between the two countries, and building on the qualitative shift that Egyptian-Qatari relations have witnessed recently across various political, economic, and investment fields.”
Madbouly affirmed the continuation of consultations with Qatari government working teams to implement what was agreed upon during the Qatari Prime Minister’s Mohammed bin Abdulrahman visit to Egypt at the end of November.
He also expressed his hope that the projects discussed with the Qatari side would be implemented “as soon as possible,” without providing further details.
According to the Qatar News Agency, the Emir of Qatar received a verbal message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi “pertaining to bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them,” conveyed by Madbouly.
The two-day Doha Forum 2024 is being held in Doha with the theme “The Inevitability of Innovation.”
According to official estimates, over 4,500 participants from more than 150 countries are in attendance, including seven heads of state, seven prime ministers, and 15 foreign ministers.
