Russian President Vladimir Putin inspected a training ground in the Ryazan region on Thursday for recruits who were summoned into military service under a partial mobilization, according to the Kremlin.
Putin checked the readiness of those going to the combat zone and issues of forming new units, said a statement.
He also listened to a report on the training progress delivered by Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu.
Putin declared a partial mobilization Sept. 21 to enlist up to 300,000 recruits between the ages of 18 and 50 in the Russian military to help in Moscow’s war effort against Ukraine.
