The warheads of Russia’s newest Oreshnik missiles can withstand temperatures comparable to those of the Sun, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday at the Future Technologies Forum in Moscow.
Such weapons could not have been developed earlier due to a lack of appropriate materials, Putin explained.
“The whole world is talking about the Oreshnik. And what materials is it made of? The temperature on its warheads matches the temperature of the Sun—the temperature on the Sun’s surface,” he said.
The Russian president emphasized the importance of advancing chemistry and developing new materials, highlighting their role in unlocking new technological opportunities.
Regarding the potential return of foreign companies to Russia, Putin emphasized the importance of maintaining attention on this matter to preserve the potential gained by the Russian business.
He also reiterated that Russia does not intend to create obstacles to cooperation with Western scientists and has extended an invitation for foreign scientists to collaborate, stating, “Our doors are open.”
