Pakistan Energy Minister Meets Turkish Ambassador

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN 

Pakistan Energy Minister on Monday met with the Turkish Ambassador and discussed Islamabad’s new alternative energy policy.

In a statement, the Energy Ministry said that Omar Ayub Khan highlighted the salient features of newly approved Alternative Energy Policy and investment opportunities under the policy.

“Pakistan would bring modern technology and start production of renewable energy equipment like solar panels, wind turbines and blades,” Khan said during his meeting with Ambassador Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul.

He added that energy projects would be awarded through open and competitive bidding.

The ambassador hailed Pakistan’s resolve to fix energy challenges and to achieve sustainable energy for economic development of the country, according to the statement.
