-Global oil demand rises
OPEC forecasts around 2.4 million bpd of global oil demand in 2023 to reach 102 million bpd, slightly adjusted up from last month’s estimate of 2.3 million bpd.
The projected demand increase is attributed to China’s oil demand during the second quarter of the year.
Demand for OPEC crude in 2023 was lightly revised up from the previous assessment to stand at 29.4 million bpd, around 1 million bpd higher than in 2022.
In 2024, demand for OPEC crude is expected to reach 30.2 million bpd, 800,000 bpd higher than the estimated level in 2023.
