Olympique Marseille on Friday signed Everton striker Neal Maupay on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy, following a successful medical.
“Trained at OGC Nice, Neal Maupay began his professional career in 2012 in a match with The Gym against Stade Brestois, becoming the 4th youngest player in the history of the French league to play a professional match, at the age of 16 years and 32 days,” Marseille said in a statement.
“A few weeks later, he scored his first Ligue 1 goal and became the 2nd-youngest goal scorer in the history of the league,” it added.
Maupay previously played for OGC Nice, Saint-Étienne, Brentford and Brighton.
The 28-year-old forward scored one goal and two assists in 32 games for Everton.
