Many odd events were covered by the world media this November, including a man in Australia who escaped a crocodile by biting it, a real human skeleton that turned up among Halloween decorations, and a formerly solitary sheep who is alone in the world no longer.

Below Anadolu serves up a choice sampling of some of the odder events that captured the world media spotlight this November.

Colin Deveraux, a cattle farmer in Australia, got into a ferocious struggle in a wetland area near his home when he came across a crocodile stretching out an impressive 3.2 meters (10.5 feet) long.

When his right leg was suddenly caught by the crocodile, threatening to make a meal of it, the farmer feared for the worst.

But by thinking quickly, the farmer was miraculously able to turn the tables on the dreaded predator by biting it on the eyelid, ensuring that the croc would think twice before ever again attacking an Aussie farmer.

Florida man, meet human skeleton

In a secondhand shop in the US state of Florida, a spooky surprise was found lurking among a collection of Halloween decorations.

An anthropologist browsing the store found something that looked like a genuine human skeleton and immediately reported it to police.

When police looked into the intended decorations, they confirmed that the bones belonged to a real human skeleton and launched an investigation into the incident.

Don’t try catching a plane like this

A woman who missed her flight at Canberra Airport in Australia became a trending topic on social media after she ran onto the runway in pursuit of the plane.

In a video shared by another passenger, the woman is seen bypassing security guards and running onto the runway, trying to somehow reach out to the pilot.

The Australian Federal Police detained the woman on charges of breaching security.

Escaped horse means canceled flight

A plane departing John F. Kennedy Airport in New York for Amsterdam had to turn back in mid-flight due to a stowaway passenger of the four-legged variety.

A horse escaped from its cage and began roaming freely inside the plane.

Not ready for the plane to become a horse’s stomping grounds, the pilot and flight crew had to return to the airport to get that horse a new barn.

‘World’s loneliest sheep’ rescued after being trapped at bottom of a cliff for 2 years

Local farmers in Scotland rescued Fiona, known as the “world’s loneliest sheep,” who had been trapped at the bottom of a cliff, without another soul for company, for two years.

During her isolation, experts noted something many humans might find familiar from the pandemic: Fiona had been eating grass continuously for two years and gained a significant amount of weight.

Some 9 kilograms (20 pounds) of wool had also grown on Fiona and was shorn off her, giving her her first close shave in years.

Long-distance penny pinching

In Australia, a 43-year-old under the influence of alcohol hid under the trailer of a truck to avoid paying a short-distance taxi fare.

As the driver did not notice him for some time, the “passenger” managed to travel some 400 kilometers (248 miles) under the truck.

The man fell asleep and woke up finding himself far from home.

Police helped the man to the nearest train station.

The truck driver said he was “shocked” when he noticed the man.
