Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt beat Turkish side Besiktas 3-1 in a UEFA Europa Conference League Group D match Thursday.
Bodo/Glimt’s Danish midfielder Albert Gronbaek, who followed a ball deflected from Besiktas goalie Mert Gunok, brought the lead to the Norwegian side in the 29th minute at Aspmyra Stadion in Bodo.
Cameroonian forward Faris Moumbagna controlled the ball well in the penalty area and after a good one-two pass, he made it 2-0 for Bodo with a low and accurate shot in the 58th minute .
Just after five minutes, Slovenian winger Nino Zugelj netted another one for the hosts, but it was disallowed due to offside after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) inspection.
After Besiktas goalie Gunok couldn’t control the ball properly, Norwegian midfielder Ulrik Saltnes tallied the third goal for Bodo/Glimt with a shot from outside the box in the 87th minute.
Bodo’s Norwegian defender Brede Moe headed the ball into his own goal in the 91st minute and the match ended 3-1.
Bodo/Glimt climbed to second spot in Group D with 4 points, while Besiktas are in fourth spot with 1 point, still looking for a win.
