Newcastle United toppled Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 in the second week of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Newcastle United broke the deadlock when Miguel Almiron made a close-range finish in the 17th minute at St James’ Park stadium.
Defender Dan Burn doubled the lead with a header in the 39th minute and Sean Longstaff netted a right-footed strike in the 50th minute.
After six minutes, the Parisians’ Lucas Hernandez scored a header to make it 3-1.
Newcastle’s Fabian Schar made a classy long-range finish in stoppage time and the Group F match ended 4-1.
The English club climbed to the top of Group F with four points, one point ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, while third-place AC Milan collected two points and Borussia Dortmund are at the bottom of the table with one point.
In another Wednesday match, Manchester City beat Leipzig 3-1 at Red Bull Arena.
Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku scored for City while Lois Openda produced a goal for the German side in the Group G match.
