New home sales in US fall 0.3% in February

ISTANBUL

New home sales in the US decreased 0.3% in February from the previous month, according to a report released Monday by the Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Sales of new single‐family homes were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 662,000.

New home sales, which show the number of new single-family homes sold, were estimated to come in at 675,000 last month.

The figure for January was revised up from 661,000 to 664,000 for a monthly gain of 1.7%.

Annually, new home sales in February were 5.9% above the same month in 2023 when the figure stood at 625,000.

The median sale price of new homes sold was $400,500 in February, while the average price was $485,000.
