Napoli crowned Serie A champions; Bayern Munich, Dortmund Bundesliga title race goes on

Napoli were crowned Italian Serie A champions, while Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund’s German Bundesliga continue their race for the title.

Manchester City, which have won 6 points in their last two league games, run for the English Premier League title for the third time in a row.

Barcelona won the Spanish La Liga title, while Paris Saint-Germain have entered the last four weeks in the French Ligue 1 with 6 points ahead of their closest follower Lens.

Intense title race between Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund goes on in Bundesliga

In the German Bundesliga, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund got ahead of their other rivals in the championship race with their recent performances in the last weeks.

In the week 31 of the league, leaders Bayern Munich showed their resilience for the championship for the 11th time in a row by beating Werder Bremen 2-1 with goals from Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane.

Borussia Dortmund, which lost its place at the top by drawing with Bochum last week, continued the title fight by passing Wolfsburg with 6-0 in the game which Karim Adeyemi (2), Jude Bellingham (2), Sebastien Haller and Donyell Malen netted.

Bayern Munich will face Schalke 04 (at home), Leipzig (at home) and Cologne (away) respectively in the last three weeks of the league, while Borussia Dortmund will play against Borussia Monchengladbach (home), Augsburg (away) and Mainz 05 (home).

Union Berlin, one of the shining teams of the season, lost 1-0 to Augsburg at an away match, while Leipzig defeated Freiburg with the same score.

In the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich with 65 points was followed by Borussia Dortmund with 64 points, Leipzig with 57 points and Union Berlin and Freiburg with 56 points.

Leaders Manchester City won twice in one week

Manchester City, which beat West Ham United 3-0 in the postponement match on Wednesday, then on Saturday, defeated Leeds United 2-1 with two goals of Ilkay Gundogan at the weekend and preserved their advantage on the way to the championship for the third time in a row.

Losing their place at the top with the point losses in the last few weeks, Arsenal beat Newcastle United, one of the shining teams of the season, 2-0.

The Citizens was followed by Arsenal with 81 points, Newcastle United with 65 points (one game missing), Manchester United with 63 points (one game missing) and Liverpool with 62 points.

Barcelona entered last yard for La Liga championship

In Spanish La Liga, league matches were played on weekdays due to the Copa del Rey final.

Leaders Barcelona began the final countdown for the championship by beating Osasuna at home with a single goal.

Real Madrid, which beat Osasuna 2-1 in the Copa del Rey final, lost to Real Sociedad 2-0 away in the league match and broke away from the championship race. On the other hand, Atletico Madrid beat Cadiz 5-1 and made it 3 out of 3 in the league, left Real Madrid behind and rose to second place.

In the week 34 of the league, in the Catalan derby on May 14, Barcelona will face Espanyol and will declare their championship if they win. The Catalan representative will also be crowned in the possible loss of points of their rivals Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.

After the week 33 of La Liga, Barcelona is at 82 points, followed by Atletico Madrid with 13 points behind, Real Madrid 14 points behind and Real Sociedad 21 points behind.

Napoli crowned Serie A champions after 33 years

In Italian Serie A, where league matches continue on weekdays and weekends, Napoli were crowned as the champions after 33 years. Napoli, which declared their championship during the week by drawing 1-1 with Udinese on the road, passed Fiorentina at the weekend with a single goal.

Lens, one of the two teams fighting for the championship, defeated Olympique Marseille with a score of 2-1 and were placed second.
