Morris County police and fire department members celebrated Nesim Aktas, 9, from overcoming leukemia cancer.
Little Nesim, who had leukemia at the age of 6, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in late 2017 and received the last dose of liquid chemotherapy on June 8.
Aktas Family and friends gathered at Nesim’s house on Kanouse Street for a short time and celebrated the beating of cancer. Due to the coronavirus, the cake with the text “I’m a Survivor” was cut during the celebration, which was carried out by paying attention to the social distance rules.
Fighting Cancer For 3 Years
At that time, the doctor says let me take care of Nesim. He then says that he must have a blood test immediately and go to the hospital. After the blood test, he learns that blood cancer is the first step and he is hospitalized immediately. He had a difficult treatment for 3 years, but thank God he has survived now.

Surprise From, Police and Firemen to Little Boy
Police and fire trucks at the Morris County Sheriff Department turned the street into a party. Boonton Fire Chief David Kaplan let Nesim ring the bell.
Sheriff Gannon gave Nesim a certificate of courage because of his struggle and “completing the treatment process with the highest courage and determination”. Nesim’s younger brother Zeki also became the mascot of the cheerful ceremony.
“Never Quit”
“We are all here today because of your courage,” says Sheriff Gannon. Nesim. “You had a very difficult disease at the young age. But do you know anything? You taught us all a good lesson. Never Quit. There is great courage in his little heart. You had a very hard time. We are really proud of you. ”
