Monaco remain at top of French Ligue 1 despite Lorient draw

ISTANBUL 

Monaco remained at the top of the French Ligue 1 after Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Lorient.

After the latest matches in the top five European leagues over the weekend, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayer Leverkusen, and Monaco are in top positions in their respective leagues.

Nice secured a 3-2 win over defending champion Paris Saint-Germain to be fourth in the standings.

Monaco are at the top of the table with 11 points, followed by Brest with 10 points and Nice with nine points.

Manchester United a suffered 3-1 defeat against Brighton at home and Manchester City beat West Ham United 3-1 to remain at the top of the English Premier League.

Tottenham defeated Sheffield United 2-1, while Arsenal beat Everton 1-0.

Manchester City are at the top of the Premier League with 15 points, and Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal have 13 points each.

In Bundesliga week four, defending champion Bayern Munich were held to a 2-2 draw with Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern Munich are second with 10 points, behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen on goal difference. Leipzig are third with nine points.

In Spanish La Liga, Real Madrid had a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad, while Barcelona hammered Real Betis with a 5-0 result.

On matchday five, Real Madrid topped the standings with 15 points, two points ahead of Barcelona and third place Athletic Bilbao collected 10 points.

In Italian Serie A, Inter toppled AC Milan 5-1 as Henrih Mkhitaryan scored twice, and Marcus Thuram, Hakan Calhanoglu, Davide Frattesi were other scorers for Nerazzurri. It was AC Milan’s first loss of the season.

The defending champions were held to a 2-2 draw against Genoa, while Juventus beat Lazio 3-1.

Inter Milan lead the table with 12 points, Juventus are second with 10 points, and AC Milan third with nine points.
