Mexico’s retail sales fall 0.2% in March

ISTANBUL

Mexico’s retail sales decreased 0.2% in March on a monthly basis, the country’s statistical authority said Monday.

Total employed personnel and real average salaries, on the other hand, rose 0.3%, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) said in a statement.

On an annual basis, retail sales increased 2.7% in March, compared to the same month of last year, according to INEGI.

In March, total employed personnel, however, declined 0.7% year-on-year, it added.

Annually, retail commercial companies, real income showed a gain of 0.6%, while average salaries posted an 8.8% increase, said the agency.
