Mexico’s industrial output in August rose 0.3% monthly in seasonally adjusted terms, coming in line with market estimates, the country’s statistical authority announced on Thursday.
Industrial production in July increased by 0.5%, compared to the month before.
In August, construction grew 2.4% and mining expanded 1.6%, INEGI said in a statement.
On an annual basis, industrial activity was up 5% in August, compared to the same month of last year.
That figure came in much higher than the market expectation of a 4.6% gain, following a 4.8% increase in July.
Annually, construction soared by 30.1%, while mining increased by 1.5%, compared to the same month of last year.
