Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek will miss the rest of the 2022-23 season, the English Premier League side announced on Friday.
The 25-year-old was forced to leave the pitch against Bournemouth earlier this month, after colliding with Marcos Senesi and suffering a knee injury.
“I think it is quite positive news,” the Red Devils Manager Erik Ten Hag said. “Of course, the bad news is he is out for the rest of the season, but the good news is, in the long term, his knee will be okay and he will be ready again to play at the highest levels and will be ready for the start of pre-season.”
Van de Beek, who returned from his loan spell at Everton in May 2022, has two goals and two assists in his 60 Manchester United appearances.
The Dutch international also netted three goals in 19 caps for the Netherlands National Team.
Manchester United will face local rivals Manchester City on Saturday (12:30 GMT).
