Manchester United initiate ‘appropriate steps’ in response to Ronaldo interview

ANKARA (AA) – English Premier League side Manchester United on Friday reacted to Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent interview with British journalist and television presenter Piers Morgan.

The English club said they initiated ‘appropriate steps’ in response to Ronaldo’s recent media interview.

The club didn’t give any specifics about the so-called ‘steps’ and declined to make further comment until the process reaches its conclusion.

The Portuguese star said in a TV interview with Piers Morgan that he has issues with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and added that he felt betrayed by the club, claiming Ten Hag was trying to force him from the team.

The interview was broadcast in separate parts since Monday.

Manchester United removed a poster Wednesday of Cristiano Ronaldo from the exteriors of Old Trafford as a first reaction.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is in his second stint at Manchester United after playing for Real Madrid and Juventus for multiple seasons.

Ronaldo became the first player in history to reach 700 club goals last month when he scored against Everton in an English Premier League match.
