Manchester City’s Spanish midfielder Rodri has picked up a knee injury, the English club said on Wednesday.
“Manchester City FC can confirm that Rodri has suffered a ligament injury to his right knee. The injury was sustained during the first half of this weekend’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the (English) Premier League,” the club statement read.
“The midfielder travelled to Spain to seek specialist consultation this week, following initial tests in Manchester. Assessment remains ongoing to ascertain the full extent of the injury and expected prognosis,” Manchester City added.
Rodri, 28, joined Man City from Atletico Madrid in 2019 to help the Sky Blues clinch four straight Premier League titles between 2021 and 2024, and a UEFA Champions League trophy in 2023.
He scored 26 goals and made 30 assists in 260 appearances for Manchester City.
Separately Rodri won the EURO 2024 title with Spain in July.
