İSTANBUL
Manchester City have reached an agreement with Lille to sign Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi in a deal worth up to £86 million ($116 million), according to British media reports Sunday.
The Premier League club will reportedly pay a fixed fee of £81.3 million, with a further £4.3 million in potential add-ons.
The 18-year-old is expected to undergo a medical examination before completing the transfer.
If finalized, the deal would make Bouaddi the most expensive teenage signing in Premier League history, surpassing the £58.9 million Manchester United agreed to pay Lille for defender Leny Yoro in 2024.
Bouaddi, who primarily operates as a defensive midfielder, made 30 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille last season as the French club finished third and qualified for the Champions League.
He made his senior Morocco debut in May before featuring at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, starting five of the team’s six matches as the Atlas Lions reached the quarterfinals.
City have been rebuilding their midfield following the departures of Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Tijjani Reijnders.
Bouaddi would become their second major midfield signing of the summer after Elliot Anderson joined from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth up to £116 million.
