London’s Fulham signed English attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal on Friday.
“An England international, Smith Rowe has penned a five-year contract, keeping him at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2029, with a Club option to extend by a further 12 months,” Fulham’s statement read.
Smith Rowe, 24, told Fulham that he is “really happy” to play at the Craven Cottage.
“I’m really excited, I just wanted to get here as quickly as possible so I could get going with my teammates,” he said.
“Listening to the project, speaking to the Manager, and seeing what players we have here already, I think it’s an exciting project for me, and definitely the perfect step for my career going forward,” the former Arsenal midfielder added.
Smith Rowe started his career in the youth academy of Arsenal, another London club in the English Premier League. He had loan spells at Germany’s RB Leipzig and England’s Huddersfield Town before returning to Arsenal.
Smith Rowe played for Arsenal’s senior team from 2020 to 2024, scoring 18 goals and providing 13 assists in 115 appearances for the Gunners. Last season, he played 19 matches for Arsenal.
In addition, Smith Rowe helped Arsenal win the English FA Community Shield twice.
He had three caps for England.
