Liverpool grabs narrow win over Crystal Palace on road

ISTANBUL

Liverpool secured a narrow win over Crystal Palace in the seventh week of the English Premier League on Saturday.

Crystal Palace broke the deadlock with Eddie Nketiah after just 20 seconds against Liverpool.

But English striker Nketiah’s effort was ruled as out for being offside.

After nine minutes, Diogo Jota scored the winner from close range for the Reds at Selhurst Park. Cody Gakpo assisted Jota.

Liverpool are at the top of the table with 18 points after eight games, ahead of Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

Crystal Palace are in 18th place with three points.
