Liverpool reinforced their midfield by signing Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai on Sunday.
“Liverpool FC have completed the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig, subject to a work permit,” the English Premier League club said.
Szoboszlai, 22, is Liverpool’s second addition of the summer window after Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
The Reds said that the Hungarian attacking midfielder has completed a medical to join Liverpool.
“… I’m here, I’m happy and I can’t wait to get started,” Szoboszlai said in a statement.
“(A) really historic club, really good players, good coach, everything is good. For me it was perfect to make the next step in a club like this. The fans, the stadium, everything is really good,” he added.
Szoboszlai has played for Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg, and then Germany’s RB Leipzig before joining Liverpool.
He won four Austrian league titles in 2018-2021.
Szoboszlai helped RB Leipzig win two German Cups in 2022 and 2023.
He scored 20 goals and notched 22 assists in 91 matches for RB Leipzig.
He amassed 32 caps to score seven goals for Hungary.
