Leverkusen’s 8-match winning run in Bundesliga ends

In Europe’s five top football leagues, the title race continued with weekend matches in English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1.

Leverkusen’s eight-match winning streak came to an end, while Manchester City’s 3-3 draw with Tottenham dealt a blow to their run to the top.

Arsenal in the Premier League, Real Madrid in the La Liga, Inter Milan in the Serie A, Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the Ligue 1 topped the standings of their respective leagues.

Bayer Leverkusen fail to win after 8 matches in Bundesliga

Bayer Leverkusen, the undefeated leader in the German Bundesliga, drew 1-1 with Borussia Dortmund, ending their 8-game winning streak in the league.

The visitors took the lead with Julian Ryerson in the 5th minute, but Leverkusen secured 1 point when Victor Boniface equalized in the 79th minute.

The Union Berlin match against Bayern Munich, one of Galatasaray’s rivals in UEFA Champions League Group A, was postponed to a later date due to bad weather conditions.

Stuttgart beat Werder Bremen 2-0, ehile Leipzig beat Heidenheim 2-1 at home.

At the end of the week 13, Bayer Leverkusen with 35 points, Bayern Munich with 32 points, Stuttgart with 30 points, Leipzig with 26 points and Borussia Dortmund with 25 points are at the top five spots of Bundesliga standings.

Arsenal remain top of Premier League

In the English Premier League, the leaders Arsenal have kept their spot by defeating Wolverhampton 2-1 with the goals of Bukayo Saka in the 6th minute and Martin Odegaard in the 13th minute, while Wolverhampton’s only goal came from Matheus Cunha in the 86th minute.

One of the major contenders, Manchester City, drew 3-3 with Tottenham at home. City’s goals came from Heung-Min Son (own goal) in the 9th minute, Phil Foden in the 31st minute and Jack Grealish in the 81st minute. For the visiting team, Heung-Min Son netted in the 6th minute, Giovani Lo Celso in the 69th minute and Dejan Kulusevski in the 90th minute.

Liverpool beat Fulham 4-3 at home, while Aston Villa drew 2-2 with Bournemouth.

Manchester United, one of Galatasaray’s rivals in the UEFA Champions League Group A, lost 1-0 to Newcastle United.

At the end of the week 14, Arsenal are the leaders with 33 points, Liverpool are behind with 31 points, Manchester City is third with 30 points, Aston Villa is fourth with 29 points and Tottenham is fifth with 27 points.

Real Madrid maintain their lead in La Liga

In the Spanish La Liga, Real Madrid defeated Granada 2-0 with Brahim Diaz and Rodrygo’s goals in the 26th and 57th minutes, respectively and maintained their leadership in standings with a goal difference.

Girona, one of the surprise contenders of this season, continued their close pursuit to leaders by defeating Valencia 2-1 with Christian Stuani’s goals.

Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0 with Joao Felix’s goal to his former team in the 28th minute.

In week 15, Real Madrid, the leaders with 38 points, was followed by Girona with a goal difference, Barcelona with 34 points and Atletico Madrid with 31 points.

Inter beat defending champions

Inter Milan defeated the reigning champions Napoli 3-0 with the goals of Hakan Calhanoglu in the 44th minute, Nicoli Barella in the 61st minute and Marcus Thuram in the 85th minute.

Juventus gained 3 points by beating Monza 2-1, while Milan defeated Frosinone 3-1 and Roma beat Sassuolo 2-1.

At the end of the week 14 of Serie A, Inter are the league leaders with 35 points, and followed by Juventus with 33 points, Milan with 29 points, Roma and Napoli with 24 points each.

10-man PSG beat Le Havre 2-0

In the week 14 French Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated Le Havre 2-0. In the 10th minute, PSG goalie Gianluigi Donnarumma was shown a straight red card in the 10th minute and sent off. PSG’s goals were netted by Kylian Mbappe in the 23rd minute and Vitinha in the 89th minute.

Nice lost 1-0 to Nantes, while Monaco defeated Montpellier 2-0 and Lille beat Metz 2-0.

In Ligue 1, PSG lead the standings with 33 points, Nice is second with 29 points, Monaco is third with 27 points and Lille is fourth with 26 points.
