Leverkusen continue unbeaten Bundesliga run by topping Leipzig 3-2

Bayer Leverkusen continued their unbeaten German Bundesliga run Saturday by topping Leipzig 3-2.

Leipzig’s young Dutch forward Xavi Simons’ finish into the bottom corner of the net brought an early lead to the hosts in the seventh minute at Red Bull Arena.

Nigerian striker Nathan Tella’s shot from close range equalized in the 47th minute.

Belgian attacker Lois Openda brought the lead back to Leipzig with a first-time finish in the 56th minute.

German defender Jonathan Tah’s header leveled the match.

Ecuadorian defender Piero Hincapie’s last-minute goal in the 91st minute gave Bayer Leverkusen an important victory.

Bayer Leverkusen remain at the top spot of the league with 48 points, while Leipzig are in 4th place with 33 points.
