King Charles is set to address the 28th Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai.

Buckingham Palace said Charles will visit Dubai from Nov. 30 to Dec. 1 and address the opening ceremony.

Charles will have a pivotal meeting with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed where he will discuss collaborative efforts in tackling environmental challenges that threaten the planet.

He will join Sheikh Mohamed at a reception to mark the launch of the inaugural COP28 Business and Philanthropy Climate Forum.

“The king will have the opportunity to meet regional leaders, to support the UK’s efforts to promote peace in the region, and to demonstrate His Majesty’s strong interest in bringing together people from different faiths and backgrounds,” it said.

Charles plans to engage with students and graduates from across the commonwealth to delve into discussions about green technology, sustainable innovations and applaud entrepreneurial ventures.

The agenda also includes conversations about the crucial role the younger generation plays in implementing climate and nature solutions.
