ISTANBUL

Kazakhstan denied that drones used earlier Tuesday in an attack on the Russian Republic of Tatarstan were launched from its territory.

“The information disseminated in some Telegram channels that the drones that allegedly attacked the objects of the Republic of Tatarstan were launched from the territory of Kazakhstan is not true,” according to a statement by the Kazakh Defense Ministry on Telegram.

Expressing that such claims are aimed at discrediting the country, it urged citizens and the media to not react to rumors being spread and to trust official sources of information.

Thirteen people were injured Tuesday in drone attacks in Nizhnekamsk and Yelabuga in Tatarstan, according to Russian state news agency TASS

Sources from Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence confirmed to state news agency Ukrinform that Kyiv was behind the attacks.
