Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Monday discussed bilateral cooperation with his Israeli counterpart Isaac Herzog during a phone call.

“At the initiative of the Israeli side, a telephone conversation took place between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog,” said a statement by the Kazakh presidency, Akorda.

Herzog congratulated Tokayev and the Kazakh people on the Nevruz spring festival and the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, while Tokayev congratulated Herzog and the Israeli people on the Jewish Passover holiday.

“The presidents discussed the prospects for strengthening Kazakh-Israeli cooperation in the trade and economic sphere,” the statement further said.

It also noted that both leaders emphasized “the positive dynamics of the growth of bilateral trade, as well as the importance of expanding cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.”
