Karmod hosts Erasmus+ students for sustainability tour

ISTANBUL

Turkish modular construction firm Karmod welcomed students from Türkiye, Germany, and the Netherlands as part of the Erasmus+ “We Are 17” project.

Students from Türkiye’s Kartal Koy Hizmetleri Anatolian High School, along with their German and Dutch fellows, toured Karmod’s production facilities. During the visit, they were briefed on the company’s sustainability initiatives and observed the manufacturing processes firsthand.

Tamer Yaman, Karmod’s Factory Manager, guided the students through the facility, highlighting the firm’s waste reduction strategies and sustainable production model.

The students also explored new technologies aimed at enhancing Karmod’s sustainability efforts.

“We welcome opportunities to share technical knowledge with students and see it as our responsibility,” said Hakan Durmaz, Karmod’s Board Member and Sustainability Manager.

Durmaz emphasized the importance of resource efficiency for sustainable growth, noting that Karmod has implemented solar energy at its production sites and expanded the use of electric vehicles within its operations.

“By integrating advanced technologies, we’ve reduced resource-based carbon emissions, minimized waste, and increased energy efficiency through high-insulation structures,” he added.
