Turkish modular solutions manufacturer Karmod said on Tuesday that it exported stainless steel silo storage tanks to Libya for use in industrial production facilities.
Four stainless steel silo tanks with a capacity of 10,000 liters each were shipped to a food production facility in Benghazi. The tanks were made from corrosion-resistant “304L” grade stainless steel, designed to withstand high temperatures common in North African climates.
Talay Ozturk, general manager of Karmod’s Composite Division, said demand for the company’s high-durability stainless steel tanks is rising across North Africa.
“We are seeing strong interest from countries like Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt,” Ozturk said.
“Turkish-made products are recognized for their quality, and sea transport routes offer logistical advantages for exports to the region. The non-corrosive structure of our tanks ensures long-lasting performance in hot climates,” he added.
He explained that the tanks are used for the safe storage of water, food, and chemical liquids.
The silo tanks, elevated by a specially designed support system to improve usability in industrial settings, are particularly favored in food production facilities.
“For this project, we designed the tanks with custom footings that raise them 60 centimeters above ground to facilitate industrial usage,” he said. “The 304L stainless steel we used contains lower carbon levels, offering improved resistance to heat and corrosion.”
Karmod manufactures stainless steel tanks in a variety of shapes and sizes, including horizontal, vertical, square, and rectangular models ranging from 500 liters to 100 tons in capacity.
