Japan’s annual consumer inflation falls to 3.2% in August

ANKARA

Japan’s annual consumer inflation slowed to 3.2% in August, a three-month low, according to data released on Friday.

The figure was down from 3.3% in July but above the Bank of Japan’s target of 2% for the 17th straight month.

Core inflation was unchanged at a four-month low of 3.1%.

On a monthly basis, Japan’s consumer price index rose 0.2%, slowing from 0.4% in July.
