Israeli forces shelled several areas in southern Lebanon with artillery and machine guns Monday despite a ceasefire, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).
The agency said the outskirts of Al-Deir neighborhood in Nabatieh al-Fawqa came under intermittent Israeli artillery shelling in the morning.
It added that Israeli forces also fired machine guns toward the town of Beit Yahoun in Bint Jbeil district.
Overnight, Israeli artillery targeted the outskirts of Hadatha, the agency reported.
No information was immediately available on casualties or damage.
Israeli attacks in Lebanon since March 2 have killed nearly 4,400 people and injured 12,500, according to Lebanese figures.
The attacks have continued despite the US-mediated “framework formula” signed by Beirut and Tel Aviv on June 26, which provides for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied territory in return for the deployment of the Lebanese army there.
Israel occupies areas in southern Lebanon, some for decades and others since the war between 2023 and 2024, while expanding its presence inside Lebanese territory during its ongoing assault.
