As the conflict between Israeli forces and Hamas enters its 10th day, the Israeli army continues bombardments of the Gaza Strip and the besieged Palestinian enclave faces a humanitarian crisis.

Humanitarian situation

GAZA CITY

• At least 1 million people in Gaza forced to flee their homes since conflict started, according to UN relief agency for Palestinians UNRWA.

• Fuel reserves at all hospitals in the Gaza Strip likely to run out within the next 24 hours, the UN has warned.

• Around 50,000 pregnant women in the Gaza Strip cannot obtain basic health services, says United Nations Population Fund.

JERUSALEM

• An Israeli soldier killed by anti-tank fire on Lebanon’s border, according to the Israeli army.

• Israeli army chief says it “our duty is to enter Gaza, cripple Hamas, including every commander and operative, and destroy infrastructure.”

GAZA CITY

• A woman killed and six children injured due to Israeli bombing on Khan Yunis, said medical sources.

• Intense raids launched by Israeli army on eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City, the Zaytoun neighborhood, Shujaiya and the northwest areas.

• Hamas said it launched rocket attacks on an Israeli military compound in Mefalsim and on the city of Ashkelon.

• The number of Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza has risen to 2,750, including 750 children, with 9,700 others injured.
