ANKARA

Inter Milan beat Roma 1-0 in an Italian Serie A match at home on Sunday as France’s Marcus Thuram scored the winning goal.

Thuram broke the deadlock in Milan in the 81st minute, finishing in the six-yard box after Federico Dimarco’s low pass from the left flank.

Inter have 25 points in 10 matches to lead the Serie A standings. Roma were handed their fourth loss of the season and have 14 points.

Juventus are second with 23 points as they beat Verona 1-0 on Saturday.

On Sunday, AC Milan drew with Napoli 2-2 to be in third position with 22 points. Milan’s French forward Olivier Giroud scored twice in Naples, but his brace was not enough for the visitors.

Fourth-place Napoli, who won the Italian title last season, have 18 points.
