Indian consulate in Istanbul hosts event to promote upcoming major textile fair in New Delhi

ANKARA

The Indian Consulate General in Istanbul organized a special promotional event on the Indian textile sector to enhance bilateral trade in the industry.

The event, held on Wednesday at a venue in Istanbul, served as “a curtain raiser” for Bharat Tex 2024, a major textile event slated to take place in New Delhi from February 26 to 29, next year, the consulate general said in a statement.

In his address to the gathering, India’s Consul General, Mijito Vinito, highlighted the significant untapped potential for collaboration between India and Türkiye in the textile sector, emphasizing the shared focus and impact this industry holds for both countries.

Bhadresh Dodhia, chairman of India’s Synthetic and Rayon Export Promotion Council (STEPC), extended an invitation to Türkiye’s textile sector, emphasizing the vast avenue for partnerships for mutual benefit.

The textile event was attended by many exporters, buyers, and leaders of textile associations in Türkiye.
