Hydropower produced 87.8% of Norway’s electricity in December, equivalent to 12.26 terawatt-hours (TWh), according to Statistics Norway (SSB) on Friday.
In addition to hydropower, the country produced 10.6% of its electricity from wind power and 1.6% from thermal power.
The country’s total electricity production amounted to 13.96 TWh in December.
The largest share of consumption composed of the extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas, and power-intensive manufacturing.
The Nordic country’s electricity consumption increased by 7.1% in December, compared to the same period last year.
