Residential property sales in Türkiye went down 12.9% year-on-year in July, according to the latest data released on Tuesday.
A total of 93,902 houses were sold last month, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said.
Istanbul had the highest share with 15.3% and 14,350 house sales followed by Ankara with 7,417 and Izmir 4,868, with the share of 7.9% and 5.2% respectively.
The provinces with the lowest number of sales were Hakkari and Ardahan with 31, and Sirnak 49.
Sales to foreign buyers diminished by 12.4% to 3,939 units last month.
House sales to foreigners had a 4.2% share of all house sales in July.
Antalya ranked first with 1,421 sales to foreigners, followed Istanbul with 1,154 and Mersin 289.
Among foreign nationals, Russians bought the most houses, 1,028, followed by Iranians with 431 purchases and Iraqis 380.
In January-July period, house sales rose by 24.2% to reach 820,300, compared to the same period last year.
