Gold price exceeds $2,000/ounce level for 1st time since July

ISTANBUL

The price of gold per ounce has surpassed the $2,000 threshold for the first time since the end of July, amid the ongoing conflict between the Israeli army and the Palestinian group Hamas.

While it stood at $1,830 at the beginning of this month, the price has steadily risen since the start of the fighting on Oct. 7.

Additionally, the barrel price of Brent oil has reached its highest level in approximately a month, hovering around $93.

It dipped below the $85 level in October after being above $90 in September, even reaching $96.

Since the beginning of the clashes, at least 4,137 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza, while the figure stands at more than 1,400 people in Israel.
