Germany’s wholesale price index soared 19.9% year-on-year in September, the country’s federal statistical office Destatis said on Friday.
The wholesale inflation rates were 18.9% in August and 19.5% in July, a Destatis statement said.
The high prices stemmed from an increase in the prices of raw materials and intermediate products.
Solid fuel products posted the largest increase with 111.9% in September versus the same month last year.
On a monthly basis, the country’s wholesale price increased by 1.6% in September.
The country’s annual consumer inflation was 10% in September.
